A lake for bow riders, ski boats, pontoon boats, fishing boats and cuddys, as well as kayaks, canoes, row boats, sailboats, catamarans, and personal watercraft (PWC).
If there’s a boater’s heart in you, you will find our private, 232-acre Walnut Lake to be an ideal venue. You can float in the middle of the lake or in a quiet bay. Or you can enjoy water skiing, wake boarding or tubing.
At our beach club, there is a launch ramp and dock that you can use to put in and pull out. And there may be on-water docking space available to you, as there are sometimes temporary well/mooring opportunities.
For the most senior members, our association also includes an exclusive boat club. These members enjoy on-site well storage of powerboats for the full summer. Membership is based on wait list seniority, and involves additional fees for the privilege.
Boat Registration
To use a boat via our beach club, members must first register the craft with our Boat Club Commodore or our Launch/Storage Manager. You will need to …
1. be in good standing on all WLPOA-Sub 1 beach club accounts
2. provide proof of sole ownership to the watercraft, showing title, registration and proof of insurance for the craft – with all three documents in the member’s name only
3. display the WLPOA decal on the boat hull, next to the driver’s wind screen, or on the leading (right, preferred) side of a canoe or kayak.
Launching
Our association installed a new boat launch ramp in 2014 and added a new dock to facilitate the launching process.
Members in good standing may launch their boats at no charge. Non-members, who prove that they own properties on the lake, can also use the WLPOA-Sub 1 launch dock and ramp for $100 a season.
Contact: Launch/Storage Manager.
Temporary Docking
Twice per season, members who own power boats may sign up to use, at no charge, one of two weekend wells or mooring positions. Sign up begins on May 27. Contact: Beach Manager.
Occasionally there also are opportunities to sublet a well or pole for longer periods. Contact: Boat Club Commodore.
Off-Season Storage
For a small fee, members may store boats in the parking lot or kayak racks, when the club is not officially open or in preparation for opening. Contact: Launch/Storage Manager.
